Mrs. Hamilton, M.Ed
Mrs. Hamilton earned her bachelor's degree in European Studies from BYU and later her Masters of Education from the University of Phoenix. She attended school in Denmark and Austria, where she learned to speak Danish and German. Mrs. Hamilton studied classical piano in New York, where she was born and raised. She taught private piano lessons for over 30 years to students in New York, Denmark, Colorado and Boston before settling in Utah. While raising her family of 5 boys and 1 girl, Mrs. Hamilton voluntarily served as organist, chorister and area music chairman. Prior to accepting a position as Music Specialist, Mrs. Hamilton taught both 5th grade and 6th grade students. Her own children have all studied piano, and participated in Mountain Ridge and Lone Peak bands on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone and drumline. While recognizing that studying music theory, history, composition and performance is vital to music instruction, Mrs. Hamilton feels that the love of music is the greatest gift she can share with her students. Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy. -Ludwig van Beethoven |
